I am committed to making EarthToTommy.com usable by everyone, including people who navigate the web with screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive technology.
This site is being built with accessibility as a design requirement rather than an afterthought. That work includes semantic page structure, descriptive text alternatives for images, keyboard operability throughout, visible focus indicators, and sufficient color contrast. I am working toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Some of what I produce resists that standard. Immersive media, including virtual field trips, 3D walkthroughs, and gigapixel panoramas, carries meaning that is spatial and visual by nature, and no text alternative fully conveys it. This is an unsolved problem across the field, not one specific to this site. Some of this content is hosted on third-party platforms whose viewers I do not control. Where I publish immersive content, I provide written descriptions of what it shows and what it means on my own pages.
This statement was last reviewed in August 2026. Accessibility is ongoing work, and I update this site as I find and fix problems.
