I am Tom Ruberto, a geoscience professor, science communicator, and media producer. I hold a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Geology. I produce virtual field trips and digital media assets for geoscience education, and my research centers on production workflows and on testing the effectiveness of virtual field experiences as a learning modality.
The Ruberto Geoscience Research Lab is a research in undergraduate education (RUE) initiative at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, directed by Dr. Thomas Ruberto. Roughly fifteen undergraduate researchers from several disciplines build immersive virtual field experiences for fellow students who cannot get to the field because of cost, work, family, access, or distance.
I teach geology, field geology, physical geography, meteorology, climate and weather, and GIS at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, where I serve as lead geoscience faculty.
